What an amazing ride! The spiritual path is never what you think it's going to be. I set out to write a book as an offering, a letter of thanks. And also as a way to share a little of what I'd learned from my meditation teacher about contemplation. Simple, right? Probably take about a year. Tell some good stories, make a few points. But to do that, I found out, you have to reveal some of the really tough times in your life as well as the stuff that made your heart overflow with gratitude.
So seven years later, the book was out.
The result is Sacred Visitations. It's a memoir of the inner and outer adventures that started after I met the spiritual teachers of the Siddha tradition. The subtitle is long, but true. The book is about gifts of grace. And I tell you, gifts of this kind transform your heart and awaken the soul. I've done my best to retrace the journey from checkpoint to checkpoint, telling the parts of the story that I thought other seekers might find helpful.
The Siddha master Baba Muktananda said that he owed his life to his spiritual teacher. That's how I feel, too. To get what I really mean by that, you really have to read the book! |
